"God's intention for each of us is that we should grow to the point where he can empower us to do what we want - then he can turn us loose on the universe!"  Dallas Willard

Getting Involved

One aspect of faith and being a part of a faith community is using one's God-given gifts. There are many ways that people can get involved at FaithWorks and in the local community. The following roles are presented to give ideas as to some ways people can use their gifts. They are not positions we are trying to fill, but hopefully get you thinking about how you might get involved and serve others.
  • vpu team – operating the computer for the video projection unit
  • Reading to kids at a local elementary school
  • Sound team
  • Setup team (helping set up things for worship gatherings)
  • POD leaders (teaching kids grades 1-7)
  • Kingdom Kids – children 5 and under
  • Raking leaves within the local community
  • Hospitality ministry (coffee and snacks for our worship gatherings)
  • Drama
  • Music
  • Looking after kids in the nursery
  • Young Moms Group
  • Childcare providers
  • Helping tune-up bikes of kids in the community
  • Women’s and Men’s Retreat Coordinators
  • Prayer ministry (prayer teams during communion)
  • Copy writers (help write things up for the website, brochures, etc.)
  • Scrapbooking club
  • Shoveling walks for people in the neighbourhood (in winter of course)
  • Website
  • Etc.
This is not an exhaustive list. We are only limited by our imagination. What are your gifts and how would you like to get involved?

If you are interested in or have questions about any of the roles mentioned (or have ideas for ones not listed), please contact Pastor Mary at the FaithWorks office. If you unsure what your gifts are, please ask about any upcoming gift discernment workshops.
