The Lent RAP - Reading, Action, PrayerEveryone is encouraged to engage with God during the week by reading, praying, or acting on the teaching topic.Lent - is a time of preparation for Good Friday and Easter when, an invitation to connect and engage in relationship with God for a specific time in a unique way. How can we specifically change part of our daily activities to devote ourselves to connecting with God? The idea is not to simply “give something up”, but to “add to” our world by interacting with it in God-honoring ways. Try RAPing throughout Lent! Pick one of the following and do it each week: Reading: See below for a link to each week's suggested readings to ponder over. Action: Lent is often a time of fasting…fasting from something that will leave a noticeable hole in your life, giving you space you didn’t have before to use in another way. As you reflect on what you are moving away from, consider what God is calling you to move towards (i.e. add something to your life; fasting from Starbucks may save money that can be given to a specific mission, etc.). Prayer: During Lent, each services will be opened with a different contemplative look at the Lord’s Prayer. Use Lent this year to pray in various ways through the Lord’s Prayer, allowing its deep meaning to sink into your soul. Check back here weekly for updates. Join in a discussion group in a forum (login as a FaithWorker) to discuss what you are discovering about your world. Let’s let each other in on what God is doing in our lives!
